Top Albums of 2008
Current mood: crazy
Category: Music

So, 2008 came and went. Was it a good year for music? Yay...Nay?

I think so. Here is my list of my top 10 albums of '08.

10) Alesana - Where Myth Fades to Legend

-Its just so epic! I had 'Seduction' stuck in my noodle for days. Listen to: All Night Dance Parties in the Underground Palace

9) Sing It Loud - Come Around

-Oh whats not to love. The sugary goodness, raw talent, and some hooks. Good stuff. Listen to: Marionettes

8) Every Avenue - Shh...Just Go With It

-This album came out in February and it still hold a regular spot on my Ipod's rotation line up. Listen to: Days of the Old

7) The Maine - Cant Stop Wont Stop

-Honestly, it took me a while to even listen to this album for fear of it sounding like all those other pop-punk bullshit bands out there. But Cant Stop Wont Stop warmed up to me. Listen to: You Left Me

6) Escape the Fate - This War is Ours

-Ronnie Radke who? Craig Mabbit does wonders with the band Radke left behind. Listen to: Its Just Me

5) Chiodos - Bone Palace Ballet (reissue)

-All Chiodos did was make thier already epic album, even more epic. With six new tracks, this album rocks harder than ever. Plus the acoustic of 'A Letter To Janelle' is absolutly stunning. Listen to: Smitten for the Mitten

4) Family Force 5 - Dance or Die

-Between 'Business Up Front/Party in the Back' and 'Dance or Die' there is such a change in Family Force 5, that it makes me want to know where they are gonna go next. Dance-y and filled will uber goodness. Listen to: Radiator

3) Forever the Sickest Kids - Underdog Alma Mater

-I don't think I took this album out/off my Ipod since I bought it. It was in my car stereo, Ipod, EVERYWHERE. I love it. Every song is like its own adventure/dance party. Warning: This album is wicked catchy. Be prepared to have songs stuck in your head for a minimum of weeks. Listen to: My Worst Nightmare

2) A Skylit Drive - Wires and the Concept of Breathing

-ASD worked hard of this album, and one can certainly tell. The two things that first caught my attention was the lead singer (Micheal Jagmin)'s voice and the intensity of the drums. Lately, this is all I listen to. Although, I wish they would bring the keyboards forward a little more, this album is absolutly fan-freakin-tastic. Listen to: This Isnt The End

and....

1) Ludo - You're Awful I Love You

-Dude. I had never heard of these guys until I saw them live with Sing It Loud. I figured their live performance was stellar, so must be their record. I was right. It goes from quirky (Lake Pontchartrain), stalker-esque (Go-Getter Greg), dangerous (The Horror of Our Love), to the outwardly sexual (Mutiny Below) and I love every minute of it. Just take a listen...you wont regret it. Listen to: Love Me Dead

Agree? Disagree? Let me know!

What's your list?

Happy 2009 (almost)!

-me.

Laughing is the Best Medicine

Me Again....

Does anyone else ever have those moments where you are doing something completely mundaine but all of a sudden and out of the blue, you think of something funny that happened days or weeks ago and you just bust out laughing? I hope so, cause its amusing when you do.

I was cooking dinner tonight for the fam, and as I was stiring the pasta, I guess I was reflecting and I remembered something funny that had happened to my mom, and let me tell you how hard I laughed. Yeah it seems like random and silly, but I guess I'm just one of those people that do those kinds of things.

I mean, whats the point of life if you cant get out there and just simply laugh at yourself?! Dance around like no one cares...SING IT LOUD...just act like what feels natural...let yourself out. Dont hide your silliness from others. If they dont like it...whatever...their problem, not yours.

Basically, you cant be stressed and up-tight all the time...not that I'm calling anyone stressed or up-tight. :D

Now, get out there and have some friggen fun!
